Be still and know that I am God.

The comments below are from people who have experienced the Grand Canyon on our Christ-centered adventures.

Brian - My visit to the Grand Canyon was a most unique adventure into my God's creation.  It is such a great place to reflect on God's work, to forget the daily routine and stresses, and to enjoy a much more carefree lifestyle "below the rim."  Each day was so refreshing as we were surrounded by a pure, untainted environment in the canyon.  What a wonderful means of experiencing our Lord's creation.

Lori - After much anticipation and maybe some fear, we floated away on peaceful waters under a brilliant blue sky.  The canyon walls were beautifully colored and a great contrast against the deep blue sky.  Everywhere we looked we saw such majestic beauty always leading my thoughts upward to the One who created all things.  My thoughts were also turned to God, my Protector, when we would hear the rumbling sound of big water.  The incredible beauty continued as we hiked up canyons to find small steams and big waterfalls, swimming holes and "Indian things", jumping off places and worship places.  What a trip!  I was afraid seven days would be too long to be "stranded" on the river but on day seven, I was sorry it was over.  I'm convinced; the best way to see the Grand Canyon is with special brothers and sisters.

Bob - The Bible says that if we don't praise God, the very rocks themselves will cry out.  It's sad that so many people see the canyon merely as a diversion, but to make this journey among believers helped satisfy my deepest need to worship our Creator.

Anna (age 11) -The things I loved most about the Grand Canyon were singing, the beautiful scenery, and the wonderful people.  I was fortunate enough to go on the trip.  I'd say it was the experience of a lifetime!  To start off I'm going to compliment the beautiful singing.  It seemed as though in the side canyons everyone's voices were clearer, and more harmonic.  Secondly, I absolutely loved the wonderful and beautiful scenery!  The sky you see was just so clear and blue.  Also it was without one cloud in the sky.  Plus when you saw the sun peek on the Canyon walls was just totally awesome!

Mary - Vast sky broken by ragged earth; rocks pushed up by a force mightier than I can comprehend; stones and sand scoured by ages of perpetual washing; water, green and cold, topped by white frosting in special places; hot, dry sun and air; big night skies, revealing every planet and star with a brilliance all its own; God.

Van - The Grand Canyon defies explanation.  Although words and pictures provide imagery, they can in no way adequately describe the sensations that one experiences a mile below the rim.  I consider myself fortunate to have spent a week of my life within the canyon walls. I only hope that my meager attempts to describe such a place are sufficient to motivate others to experience it themselves.
