Canyon Ministries

We offer two basic trips, both traveling by 35-foot motorized rafts during the day and sleeping under an awesome canopy of stars at night. A trip normally consists of 26 people, who quickly become your "Canyon family." Once you join Canyon Ministries, all transportation, food, and equipment is supplied. Listed below is a brief description of our trips as well as custom trips and youth trips.

All Canyon Ministries trips are family friendly and children age 8 and older are welcomed. The Canyon experience provides unique faith-building and bonding opportunities for families and singles alike.

7 to 10-day: As you travel 190 river miles through the heart of the Grand Canyon, you will encounter all the major rapids and points of interest along the river corridor. Side hikes, which many tell us become their favorite part, provide the opportunity to realize the Canyon's depths. This trip originates at 8:00 AM in Marble Canyon, AZ, but may include an optional flight from Las Vegas to begin your trip. Nights are spent along the banks of the Colorado River under the most amazing display of stars you have ever seen. On the last morning of the trip, you will be lifted out of the Canyon by helicopter to the Bar 10 Ranch on the North Rim and transferred to a fixed-wing flight back to your point of origin by mid-afternoon. 3 & 4-day: These are our shortest trips. The trips meets at the Desert Rose Resourt at 10:30 AM for a scenic flight to the Bar 10 Ranch on the North Rim of Grand Canyon. Horseback riding, horseshoe pitching, skeet shooting, and other activities are available for your fun-filled day. (Optional ATV rides are available for an additional charge.) In the evening, there is a teaching on the creationist's view of Grand Canyon followed by the Bar 10's boot-stompin' country show. Overnight accommodation options include sleeping in a Conestoga covered wagon, on the beautiful deck or in the lodge. The second morning, an exhilarating helicopter ride will whisk you to the Canyon floor where the lower 50 miles of Grand Canyon are explored for a day and a half. Finishing on Lake Mead, the last 40 miles are traveled by jet-boat to meet an air-conditioned motor coach for the return to Las Vegas, arriving by 6:00 PM. The 4-day trip also includes a night at the Bar 10 Ranch and covers the same stretch of river, but includes 2 nights in the Canyon allowing for more time to explore and learn.
