All Canyon Ministries trips are family friendly and children age 8 and older are welcomed. The Canyon experience provides unique faith-building and bonding opportunities for families and singles alike.
7 to 10-day/6 to 9-night: As you travel 190 river miles through the heart of the Grand Canyon, you will encounter all the major rapids and points of interest along the river corridor. Side hikes, which many tell us become their favorite part, provide the opportunity to realize the Canyon's depths. This trip originates at 8:00 AM in Marble Canyon, AZ, but may include an optional flight from Las Vegas to begin your trip. Nights are spent along the banks of the Colorado River under the most amazing display of stars you have ever seen. On the last morning of the trip, you will be
3-day/2-night: This is our shortest trip. The trip meets at Las Vegas McCarran Airport at 10:30 AM for a scenic flight to the Bar 10 Ranch on the North Rim of Grand Canyon. Horseback riding, horseshoe pitching, skeet shooting, and other activities are available for your fun-filled day. (Optional ATV rides are available for an additional charge.) In the evening, there is a teaching on the creationist's view of Grand Canyon followed by the Bar 10's boot-stompin' country show. Overnight accommodation options include sleeping in a Conestoga wagon, on the beautiful deck or in the lodge. The second morning, an exhilarating helicopter ride will whisk you to the Canyon floor where the lower 50 miles of Grand Canyon are explored for a day and a half. Finishing on Lake Mead, the last 40 miles are traveled by jet-boat to meet an air-conditioned motor coach for the return to Las Vegas, arriving by 7:00 PM. The 3-day trip is highlighted in a video on our trip videos page.
Custom Trips: Canyon Ministries also offers customized charter Trips. These trips require 26 people and are generally either 3 or 7-day trips with the same basic itinerary as listed above. Based on the interest or goal of the group, more time can be spent in Bible studies, hiking or just relaxing with friends. These trips generally require booking at least a year in advance. Please contact us to discuss the possibility of organizing a special trip for your group - whether just friends or an organization.
Ministry Trips: Canyon Ministries can also provide trips targeted for youth groups and other ministry-related groups. These are smaller trips for a maximum of 13 people in the lower section of the Canyon for 4 or 5 days. Generally run only in the spring and fall, these trips launch at Diamond Creek on the Hualapai Indian reservation just north of Peach Springs, Arizona. The trip covers almost 75 miles of river with about 6 significant rapids before reaching the flat-water caused by headwaters of Lake Mead. Since these trips are run as ministry and through a different permitting system with the National Park Service, they are very cost effective. If you have a group that fits these guidelines and would like to discuss scheduling a trip, please call us. |
