The triune God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) sent his only Son into this world as a man (Jesus of Nazareth) to die as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of man.  Death, both physical and spiritual, entered into this world subsequent to, and as a direct result of, the sin of the first man, Adam.  It is through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, that men and women, by faith alone, can receive eternal salvation.

The Bible is the written Word of God and is divinely inspired throughout.  Its writings are factually true.  It is the supreme authority in all matters
about which it speaks.  The final guide to the interpretation of Scripture is Scripture itself.  The doctrines of the Creator and the creation cannot ultimately be divorced from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The account of origins presented in Genesis is a simple but factual presentation of actual events and therefore provi
des a reliable framework for scientific research into the question of the origin and history of life, mankind, the earth, and the universe.  The special creation of Adam (as one man) and Eve (as one woman), and their subsequent fall into sin, is the basis fo
r the necessity of salvation for mankind.

The great flood of Genesis was an actual historic
event and was global in its extent and catastrophic in its effect.  It is this flood (and its after-effects) that is responsible for the formation and subsequent sculpturing of much of the earth as we know it today, including the Grand Canyon.
